My Creative Habit – Week Six: Decorative Painting

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. – Jim Rohn

I have a ‘creative habit’ and I like it. I get my fix from deciding what creative project I’m going to do next. And find this just as much fun as actually completing the projects each week. My wonderful hubby is a great help too and lets me bounce ideas around with him.

So this weeks idea was an easy, relaxing one for me. I was given these lovely hand crafted salad servers a while ago and they have been sitting in my draw unused. They are made from a light timber and were originally unstained so I decided to paint them and make them decorative. They are now hanging on my kitchen wall, looking pretty.

My inspiration came from the pin ’21 adorable DIY projects to spruce up your kitchen’.  I liked the idea of taking something seemingly ordinary and making it something special. I used acrylic paint to complete this task.

I hope you like them. Until next week… happy painting!
